Valentines' Day in the Agulto House

Happy Valentines Day Lovelies!
This year, hubby and I are celebrating our seventh Valentine's day as partners, second as husband and wife, and first as parents. It's crazy how fast the time seems to go by, but what's even more incredible to me is how celebrating this day of love has changed from dressing up and going out on a date with all the other love birds to finding someone to watch Penelope so we can have a dinner cooked in our own kitchen, eating in our own living room and having some grown up talk!
Being the over the top planner that I am, of course our dinner for two had to be designed and beautiful. And, it goes without saying, that I had to create a super special dinner for us. (Which, **spoiler alert** will be a Teach Me Tuesday post next week!)
I started preparing for our special dinner by dropping Penelope off at my mom's so I could go grocery shopping. After a trip to ShopRite and then Whole Foods, I picked her up (and had some chocolate chip pancakes) and we came home. Penelope sat in her chair while she watched me clear off the dining room table that has been covered in Kaitlin Agulto Weddings stuff for weeks! (It's been covered so long, we forgot what color wood it was...!) After clearing it off, Hiccup made an appearance to check everything out and with his seal of approval, it was cleaned and set.
I skipped out on gifts this year (one because I didn't have time and two because we're both on diets.... financially and food-wise). But I had to do something special for my main man. So with the help of my handy dandy DIY spirit, I made these sweet place cards asking if he'd "Be mine?"
Bryan is the sweetest man ever though, and did NOT skip out on gifts, nor did he SKIMP out either. He brought home the most beautiful bouqet of roses for me and for Penelope, bought a mini orchid and some fun goodies: Valentine binkies, Dr. Brown's bottles that say "I love you to the moon and back," a Snugglesaurus book and Valentine sunglasses.
After Bryan dropped Penelope off at Mima's house, the buzzer on the oven timer dinged and we dinner was served! Dinner was AMAZE-BALLS! We had lobster and crab mac & cheese (This will be a Teach Me Tuesday recipe next week!), stuffed clams and a side of vegetables. Bryan and I were so stuffed by the end of dinner that we ended up not even going to see the movie we wanted to go to. We picked up Penelope and had Whole Foods cheesecake in bed snuggling our little girl. She absolutely loved the attention and snuggles and kisses... and so did we!
It was our best Valentines' Day ever! What did you do for Valentines' Day?
