Teach Me Tuesday: Bathroom Baskets
February 10, 2016
It's Teach me Tuesday at Kaitlin Agulto Weddings and today we are tackling a "somethine extra" that makes a HUGE impact on your event guests. Details that make a difference are something that I specialize in and bathroom baskets at an event are one of those things that take the teeeeeniest bit of effort and yet are something that your guests will talk about the entire night!
So, what do you include? How much do you spend? Just the ladies room or mens room too?
First things first, I'm a huge advocate for equality amongst men and women and I'll tell you what... if the ladies get a basket so do the men. I do recognize that interests might be different, so below is what I propose you put in each restroom!
I have five categories that I try to check off with the items in a basket: Fix my hair, I ripped my outfit, Oh boy do I stink, Boo Boo's and Tummy Aches and finally Fun!
Category One: Fix my hair.
Hair is one of those crazy things that EVERYONE seems to go to the bathroom to check on at some point during the event. Must be all those crazy dance moves that make all the strands move around and need some fixin'! Most of these items apply to both restrooms, but the bobby pins and hair clips I normally leave to just the ladies.
(1) Travel Size Hair Spray
(1) Travel Size Hair Gel
(1) Travel Size Moose
(1) Package of Hair Ties (1) Package of Bobby pins
(3-5) Hair clips
Category Two: I ripped my oufit.
Yup. This happens. Maybe you have a guest like me who THINKS she lost enough weight to fit into that dress, but really didn't.... RIPPPPPPPP! Or, someones dance moves got a little too crazy and pants were split... yes this has happened... and it's on video. These items I put in both restrooms
(10-15) Safety Pins
(2-3) Travel Size/Emergency Sewing Kits
(1) Can of Static Guard
(1) Large Lint Roller or (3-5) Mini Lint Rollers
Category Three: Oh boy do I stink.
You have to admit that you've been that person in the bathroom trying to find anything in your purse to make your armpits dry and your stink disappear. So will your guests. I add ALL of these items to both bathrooms keeping in mind the different brands for men and women (example: Dove deo for women and Old Spice for men).
(3-5) Travel Size Deodorant
(1) Can of Spray Deodorant
(1) Bottle of Body Mist
(example: Bath and Body Works for women, Axe for men)
(1) Bottle of Body Lotion

(1) Travel Size Bottle of Baby Powder
(1) Package of inidividual floss sticks
(1) Large Bottle or (2-3) Small Bottles of Mouth Wash
Category Four: Boo Boo's and Tummy Aches
It alllllllways happens. Someone eats something new or drink a little too much at the open bar and boom! They're in need of something to settle that stomach and take care of that pounding headache. And someone is bound to cut themselves or get their period. I usually put all of these in both bathrooms except the obvious that would only be for the ladies.

(1) Travel Size Advil/Tylonel/Ibuprofen
(1) Pack of Individual Zyrtec/Claritin
(1) Package of Band-Aids
(1) Bottle of Hand Sanitizer

Category Five: Fun!
I dare you to go wild. I always like to toss into the baskets something that fits with the theme or is just in general fun. For example, when I coordinate beach weddings, I always include aloe and sunscreen. Find something special and unique for you and your venue and include it! Your guests will LOVE it!
